What is Cothú?
Cothú is a class for caregivers raising autistic children. It is taught by autistic adults who bring a unique and important perspective, describing a social model of support that removes the burden that is so often place on our children to change who they are. Instead, the presenters will teach you techniques to shift the environment your child spends time in, giving them more access to relationships, learning, and whatever brings them joy!
Topics we will explore:
-
The autistic experience through a "neurodiversity lens"
-
What it feels like to be autistic in supportive and unsupportive environments
-
Family life and navigating competing needs through (mutual) increased understanding
-
Prioritizing your autistic child's experience and self-care
-
Raising a happy, authentic autistic child
